Calanthe discolor is often propagated by meristematic tubers. It can be done in autumn and spring. The following are details of the propagation method of Calanthe discolor in autumn and spring.
In autumn, calanthe discolor is generally used as a perennial flower, which is best cultivated in the area south of the Yangtze River.
The selection area, of course, is to choose the year, and there are tender tubers, have been selected tubers cut into small pieces, each should have a bud 1 ~ 2.
In the prepared loose and fertile soil, dig holes 10 ~ 13cm deep according to row spacing 33cm and plant spacing 23 ~ 25cm. Dig as many holes as you want ~ then flatten the bottom of the holes and plant each hole into 3 seed stems.
When planting Calanthe discolor, the bud mouth should be triangular staggered, placed flat at the bottom of the hole.
After planting, cover with fine soil or ash, pour one time thin human and animal dung water, cover with soil, flush with the furrow.
It is used for potted plants and in areas where the temperature is low and the wintering ground is not possible, such as the northern part of China, which is more suitable for breeding at this time.
The false bulbs are removed from the pot in May every year after the shriveled orchid blooms.
Cut off the old roots and residual branches, divide them into single pieces, store them in a dry and cool place, and plant them when the new buds grow to 5cm.
