Kalanchoe porphyrocalyx growth habit

Kalanchoe porphyrocalyx is better to grow in earthenware pots with good permeability, but it is not beautiful when placed indoors. It can be covered with plastic pots or porcelain pots, or directly planted in small purple sand pots or plastic pots. When planting, put a layer of broken charcoal blocks or broken hard plastic foam blocks on the bottom of the pot to enhance its permeability.

Although kalanchoe porphyrocalyx is not restirct for soil, it is easy to rot root in heavy clay soil, and grows best in loose and fertile slightly acidic sandy loam. For household potting, it is advisable to mix the same amount of leaf soil and vegetable garden topsoil, and then add 5% to 8% of sand as cultivation soil. Add some bone meal or NPK compound fertilizer as base fertilizer when planting.
