CitrusmedicaL.var.sarcodactylis (Noot.) Swingle is a small evergreen tree or shrub. Old branches are gray-green, young branches are slightly purplish red, with short, hard thorns. Single leaf is alternate; short petiole, 3-6mm long, without wings, no joints; leaf blade leathery, oblong or obovate oblong, 5-16cm long, 2.5-7cm wide, blunt tip, sometimes slightly concave. The base is nearly round or wedge-shaped, with shallow wavy blunt teeth on the edge. Flowers are solitary, clustered or raceme; calyx is cup-shaped, 5-lobed, lobes triangular; petals 5, inner surface white, outer surface purple. Stamens are numerous. The ovary is oval, and the upper part is narrowly pointed. The citrus fruit is oval or oblong, and the tip is split like a fist or opened like a fingertip. The number of splits represents the number of carpels. The surface is orange-yellow, rough, and the flesh is light yellow. The seeds are several, ovoid, apex pointed, and sometimes not fully developed. Flowering period is from April to May, fruit ripening period from October to December.

Four petals are linear and oblong, and numerous on the outside. The dimples are thick, with two sides curled inward. There are many stamens, inserted around the disc, and the upper part of the ovary is sharp.
