The morphology of the coral bell

Coral bell (Heucherais) is a perennial hardy herbaceous flower, shallowly rooted. Leaves are basal, broad-corded, 20-625px long, dark purple, evergreen in warm areas, small campanulate, 0.6-30px in diameter, red, bilaterally symmetrical.

Coral bell geographical distribution

Coral bell (Heucherais) is native to Central America, in the north of China suitable for growth.

The growth habits of coral bell

Coral Bell (Heucherais) likes sunlight. It can withstand shade but does not come into direct sunlight. Coral bell has the ability of cold resistance and can withstand low temperatures in winter. It grows better in the north of China. Coral bell likes loose, fertile soil, rich in humus for the best.

Growing methods of coral bell

Coral bell (Heucherais) is native to the United States and is therefore widely used in the national landscape. Coral Bell is easy to grow and grows well in full light or partial shade, in slightly wet or slightly dry soil, and in both high and low humidity conditions.

Coral bell (Heucherais) is cultivated in semi-shady, relatively cool environments and should avoid strong direct sunlight. This avoids excessive stress, which can lead to reduced growth activity, the metamorphosis of leaves, and increased risk of infection with root rot and stem rot.

Plant Coral bell on an incline. This is because they prefer a well-drained substrate. Although they can tolerate a short period of high fertilizer content or high pH, Coral bells thrive more on soilless substrates that drain well and contain less fertilizer. A constant supply of 50ppm of nitrogen will keep them healthy. The optimum pH value for the growth of the Coral bell was 5.8 to 6.2, and the EC value was 2 to 3.5. Water Coral bell thoroughly each time and wait until the substrate is completely dry before watering it again. Doing so can ensure the normal growth of plants, reduce the chance of plant infection bacteria, prevent sickle, rot mold, botrytis and other varieties.

  • 1. Grow Coral bell in a sunny place in winter, it is cold resistant and can grow at temperatures above -15℃.
  • 2. In summer half shade growth, avoid direct light, avoid sunburn.
  • 3. With soil and fertilizer: planted Coral bell in the soil with good drainage, and add slow-release fertilizer. Fertilization is appropriate during the growth period.
  • 4. Watering: follow the principle of "see dry see wet".When the surface of the soil dries, water it. Because Coral bells do not like too wet, so summer can be properly controlled watering.

Coral bell's main value

Coral bell (Heucherais) is a beautiful color-leaved plant, which can be used as a leaf viewing plant. In landscape applications, the Coral bell is mostly used for flower borders, flower beds and flowers, as well as ground cover plants and garden greening.
